PLAC1 (Placenta-specific protein 1)은 원래 태반 및 배아 발달 중 영양막 유래 세포에서 특이적으로 발현되는 단백질로 확인되었습니다. 그러나 다양한 인체 악성 종양, 특히 유방암에서도 이소성으로 발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
PLAC1은 세포막 연관 단백질로, 모체-태반 경계에서 세포 간 또는 리간드-수용체 상호작용을 조절하는 수용체 유사 기능을 수행하는 것으로 추정됩니다.
PLAC1의 발현 감소는 cyclin D1 및 AKT kinase의 발현 감소와 관련이 있으며, 암세포 표면에 발현되는 특성으로 인해 암 면역치료 연구의 유망한 후보로 평가됩니다.
