Target Information

Zika virus (ZIKV), a member of the Flaviviridae family, possesses a single positive-sense RNA genome translated as a polyprotein, which is post-translationally cleaved into three structural proteins (C, PrM/M, and E) and seven nonstructural proteins (NS1, NS2A, NS2B, NS3, NS4A, NS4B, NS5).
The glycosylated NS1 forms a homodimer inside cells essential for viral replication and is later secreted as a hexameric lipoprotein particle. This secreted form contributes to immune evasion and viral pathogenesis by interacting with host innate and adaptive immune components.
