Target Information
CDK2/cyclinO is a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase family complexed with CyclinO. CyclinO, an isoform of the UNG gene, is localized in the nucleus and shows significant uracil-DNA glycosylase activity.
CDK2/cyclinO protein levels increase during G1 phase and are turned over during the cell cycle. Cyclin A–CDK2 complex peaks at the G1/S transition and associates with DNA in the replication initiation complex. Rb protein acts as a substrate for CDK2–Cyclin E and/or CDK2–Cyclin A in vivo. CDK2 is activated and localized to the nucleus during late G1, S, and G2 phases.
