This antibody is not suitable for mouse tissues.

Target Information
Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein (IFP) found in cells of mesenchymal origin. It plays a role in intracellular protein transport between the nucleus and plasma membrane.
Unlike other IFPs, vimentin is co-expressed with desmin during early cellular development, later replaced by tissue-specific IFPs.
Vimentin contributes to steroid synthesis regulation by serving as a storage network for cholesterol-containing lipid droplets.
Phosphorylation by protein kinase leads to filament breakdown and activation of contractile events, facilitating lipid droplet interaction with mitochondria and enhancing steroid synthesis.
