They consist of a mixture of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and ensuring lot-to-lot consistency.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, providing higher detection sensitivity for low abundance proteins, while maintaining reproducibility.

Target Information

Interleukin 8 (IL-8, CXCL8) is a 72-amino acid pro-inflammatory chemokine belonging to the CXC subfamily. It binds to cell surface receptors IL-8RA and IL-8RB, functioning as a chemoattractant and potent angiogenic factor.
IL-8 expression and secretion are induced by inflammatory stimuli in various cells including macrophages and endothelial cells. In endothelial cells, IL-8 is stored in Weibel-Palade bodies.
Originally isolated from osteosarcoma cells, IL-8 contains the ELR-motif (Glu-Leu-Arg) and signals through CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors.
Previous names include neutrophil activating protein 1 (NAP-1), granulocyte chemotactic protein 1 (GCP-1), monocyte-derived neutrophil-activating peptide (MONAP), and protein 3-10C.
IL-8 and related CXC chemokines form a gene cluster on chromosome 4q. Studies suggest IL-8 plays roles in tumor angiogenesis and growth, and in the pathogenesis of bronchiolitis.
