Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They are composed of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and providing the consistency of recombinant production.

While functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitope sites and enabling high sensitivity for low-abundance targets—Superclonal™ antibodies have a defined mixture of light and heavy chains that can be identically reproduced in every lot, minimizing biological variability.

Target Information

MIF (macrophage migration inhibitory factor) is a cytokine initially described as a T cell-derived factor that inhibits macrophage migration. It was later identified as a pituitary hormone counteracting glucocorticoid action in immune regulation. MIF is secreted from macrophages and T cells in response to physiological glucocorticoid levels and counteracts steroid-induced immunosuppression, playing a key role in inflammation and immunity control.
