Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Rabbit Serum, as well as purified and partially purified Protein G (Streptococcus species). Cross-reactivity against Protein G from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Protein G is an immunoglobulin-binding protein expressed in group C and G Streptococcal bacteria, similar to Protein A but with differing binding specificities. It is a cell surface protein used for antibody purification due to its binding to the Fab and Fc regions. The native molecule also binds albumin.
