Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening to select optimal clones for production.

Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cell-surface glycoprotein and type I membrane protein originally identified as a myeloid cell-specific marker. It was previously thought to be a receptor for C1q but is now believed to be involved in intercellular adhesion and clearance of apoptotic cells. The intracellular cytoplasmic tail interacts with moesin, a protein that links transmembrane proteins to the cytoskeleton and contributes to cytoskeletal remodeling.
