Description:
The eB121-15F9 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mu heavy chain of mouse IgM. It does not react with other classes of mouse immunoglobulin including IgD, IgG, or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly during early stages of B lymphopoiesis and on the surface of mature B cells in bone marrow and peripheral tissues. Fluorochrome-conjugated eB121-15F9 can be used as a detection secondary for mouse IgM.

Applications Reported:

• Flow cytometric analysis to detect surface IgM on mouse B cells.
• Secondary detection of primary mouse IgMs.
• ELISA applications.

Applications Tested:
The antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and bone marrow cells at ≤0.5 µg/test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume.
Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.
Titrate antibody for optimal performance.

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigen exposure. It is the first antibody generated during an immune response and is the largest immunoglobulin in serum. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, it participates in complement activation and antigen agglutination. Mouse IgM plays a vital role in innate immunity and is used in research and diagnostics such as ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
