Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 동일한 37 kDa의 소단위체 4개로 구성된 사량체 형태로 존재합니다. NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원합니다.
GAPDH는 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제, 수선, 핵 RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여하며, 세포사(apoptosis)와 신경퇴행성 질환에서도 중요한 역할을 합니다.
또한 GAPDH는 Alzheimer’s disease 및 Huntington’s disease 관련 단백질과 상호작용하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, actin 및 tubulin과의 결합도 보고되었습니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되므로 Western blot 분석에서 단백질 적재 대조군으로 유용하게 사용됩니다.
