• Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water.
• After reconstitution, store undiluted at 4°C in the dark.
• For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
• Mouse anti-Human CD46 antibody (clone MEM-258) recognizes the human CD46 cell surface antigen, a broadly expressed glycoprotein also known as membrane co-factor protein (MCP).

Target Information

CD46 (MCP, membrane cofactor protein) is a multifunctional cell surface transmembrane protein that binds and inactivates C3b and C4b complement fragments. It regulates T cell-induced inflammatory responses by either inhibiting (CD46-1 isoform) or increasing (CD46-2 isoform) the contact hypersensitivity reaction.
CD46 also serves as a receptor for several human pathogens (both bacteria and viruses), and its ligation alters T lymphocyte polarization toward antigen-presenting or target cells, inhibiting lymphocyte function.
CD46 protects placental tissue and is expressed on the inner acrosomal membrane of spermatozoa.
