Target Information
Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family 단백질은 배아 발달, 생식, 조직 재형성 등 정상 생리적 과정뿐 아니라 관절염 및 전이와 같은 질병 과정에서 세포외 기질 분해에 관여합니다. 대부분의 MMP는 비활성 전구단백질 형태로 분비되며, 세포외 단백질분해효소에 의해 절단되어 활성화됩니다.
이 단백질은 type IV collagen, fibronectin, fibrinogen, casein, vitronectin, α1-antitrypsin, α2-macroglobulin, insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1을 분해하며, MMP9을 절단하여 활성화합니다. 또한 대부분의 MMP와 달리 보존된 C-말단 단백질 도메인을 결여하고 있습니다.
