Preparation:
Produced in BALB/c mice immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-6. Anti-Human IL-6-specific antibody was purified from cell culture by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B-cell maturation. The protein acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune or infectious diseases. It is expressed at inflammation sites and activates transcriptional responses via IL-6 receptor alpha. IL-6 is linked to various inflammatory diseases such as diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi Sarcoma, and rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels are observed in viral infections including COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2).
