Target Information
A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to discrete cellular locations.
AKAP6 is highly expressed in various brain regions, cardiac, and skeletal muscle. It localizes to the sarcoplasmic reticulum and nuclear membrane, anchoring PKA to these regions.
