Target Information
CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types.
It catalyzes removal of neutral amino acids from small peptides, regulating activation of bioactive peptides.
CD13 is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, and inflammatory responses.
It regulates intercellular contact, cell motility, and vascularization, and is expressed in granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells.
CD13 expression is associated with poor prognosis in carcinomas and functions as an aminopeptidase enzyme as well as an alpha receptor for coronavirus.
