Target Information
This protein is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein belonging to a highly conserved subfamily of WD-repeat proteins. It binds directly to the retinoblastoma protein, which regulates cell proliferation. It is found in several histone deacetylase complexes, including the mSin3 co-repressor complex, and in protein complexes involved in chromatin assembly. Additionally, it can interact with the BRCA1 tumor-suppressor gene and may play a role in regulating cell proliferation and differentiation.
