Target Information
5-HT7 Receptor is a serotonin receptor involved in regulating circadian rhythm and mediating smooth-muscle relaxation in vasculature and the GI tract. It has been implicated in depression, autism, and other neuropsychiatric disorders.
Three protein isoforms have been documented:
- Isoform a: 445 aa
- Isoform b: 432 aa
- Isoform d: 479 aa
Expression has been reported in aorta, brain, heart, placenta, small intestine, spleen, artery, and vessel. An EST has been isolated from a testis library.
