MUC1 (Mucin 1, Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, EMA)은 대부분의 선상 및 관상 상피세포와 일부 조혈세포 계통에서 발현되는 대형 세포막 점액당단백질입니다.
MUC1은 높은 다형성을 가지며, 반복 서열 수(30~90)에 따라 분자량이 다양합니다. 대부분의 분비 상피조직(예: 유선)과 90% 이상의 유방암 및 전이암에서 풍부하게 발현됩니다.
MUC1 유전자는 7개의 엑손을 포함하며, 여러 가지 대체 스플라이싱 변형체를 생성합니다.
MUC1 단백질의 과발현, 비정상적인 세포내 위치 변화, 당화 양상의 변화는 다양한 암종과 관련되어 있습니다.
