Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway and consists of stacked cisternae. Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are essential for its reorganization during mitosis. GM130 is one of the golgins localized to the Golgi and is involved in cisternae stacking and vesicular transport. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, though their full-length forms are not fully determined.
