RDBP는 RNA polymerase II 전사 신장을 억제하는 negative elongation factor (NELF) 복합체의 구성 요소입니다. 이 단백질은 핵 RNA 결합 단백질과 유사하지만 RNA 결합은 확인되지 않았습니다. RDBP는 아르기닌(R)과 아스파르트산(D)이 교대로 배열된 염기성 및 산성 잔기의 구간을 포함하며, MHC class III 영역(염색체 6)에 위치합니다.
