Target Information
CXCR2 is a receptor for interleukin-8 (IL-8), a powerful neutrophil chemotactic factor belonging to the GPCR family. Binding of IL-8 to CXCR2 activates neutrophils through a G-protein-mediated phosphatidylinositol-calcium signaling pathway. CXCR2 binds IL-8, GRO/MGSA, and NAP-2 with high affinity and is expressed in various tissues, including placenta and thymus.
