Target Information
SPARC gene encodes a cysteine-rich acidic matrix-associated protein. This protein is required for collagen calcification in bone and is involved in extracellular matrix synthesis and modulation of cell shape. It has been associated with both tumor suppression and metastasis due to its role in cellular morphology and invasion. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
