Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase belonging to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. Activation occurs via binding of the FLT3 ligand to the extracellular domain, inducing receptor homodimerization and autophosphorylation. The activated receptor subsequently phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effectors involved in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells. Mutations causing constitutive activation of FLT3 are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
