ATF3 (Activating transcription factor 3)는 포유류의 activation transcription factor/cAMP responsive element-binding (CREB) 단백질 계열에 속하는 전사 인자입니다. 이 단백질은 분자량 약 22 kDa로 계산되며, ATF 결합 요소가 포함된 프로모터에서 전사를 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 형태인 ATF3 delta Zip은 leucine zipper 단백질 이합체화 모티프가 결여되어 DNA에 결합하지 않으며, 전사를 자극하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 이러한 스플라이싱은 표적 유전자 조절에 생리학적으로 중요한 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다.
