The R-phycoerythrin (PE)-Texas Red conjugate permits simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets with excitation by a single excitation source—the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser.
Target Information
CD45RA is an isoform of the CD45 complex with restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of lymphocyte surface proteins.
CD45 glycoprotein regulates lymphocyte development and antigen signaling through Src-family kinases. Isoforms differ in extracellular domains due to alternative splicing but share identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
Expression varies by cell type and physiological state. CD45 also promotes cell survival via integrin-mediated pathways and participates in DNA fragmentation during apoptosis.
It is expressed in hematopoietic cells except mature red cells and absent in other differentiated tissues. CD45 dysfunction is linked to severe combined immunodeficiency and Hepatitis C.
