Target Information
GPR83 is a 423 amino acid orphan G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) closely related to tachykinin and NPY receptors. It is the human homolog of the mouse GIR protein and is selectively expressed and upregulated in the brain. As a cell surface receptor with a seven-transmembrane domain, GPR83 may play a role in immune tolerance by promoting the peripheral generation of Foxp3⁺ regulatory T cells (Treg).
