Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of Doublecortin only when phosphorylated at Ser335.

Target Information

In the developing cortex, cortical neurons must migrate over long distances to reach their final differentiation site.
Doublecortin (DCX) is a cytoplasmic protein that regulates neuronal migration by organizing and stabilizing microtubules.
It contains two doublecortin domains that bind microtubules and interacts with LIS1, the regulatory gamma subunit of platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase.
This interaction is crucial for proper microtubule function in the developing cortex.
Mutations in the DCX gene cause X-linked lissencephaly.
