Target Information
STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3)는 STAT 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 수용체 관련 키나아제에 의해 인산화되어 핵으로 이동하고 전사 인자로 작용합니다.
STAT3는 Interferon-alpha, Interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF, IL6 등에 의해 활성화되며, Tyr705에서의 인산화는 이합체 형성, 핵 이동, DNA 결합에 필수적입니다.
인간에서는 STAT3 유전자가 염색체 17q에 위치하며, 세포 성장 및 세포사멸 조절 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
PIAS3 단백질은 STAT3의 특이적 억제 단백질로 알려져 있으며, STAT3 결손 생쥐는 배아 단계에서 치명적입니다.
