Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
MMP3 (stromelysin-1) belongs to the peptidase M10A subfamily. It is secreted as a pro-protein and activated by extracellular proteinase cleavage. MMP3 binds zinc and calcium ions and exhibits metallo-endopeptidase activity, degrading collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, and laminin.
It plays a role in wound repair and tissue remodeling. Mutations in the MMP3 gene can lead to coronary heart disease.
