PEP-0068 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-19943.
Target Information
RYBP is a component of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex, which maintains the transcriptionally repressive state of many genes, including Hox genes, throughout development.
The PcG PRC1-like complex acts via chromatin remodeling and histone modification, mediating monoubiquitination of histone H2A (Lys-119), resulting in heritable changes in chromatin expressibility.
It is required for normal silencing of one X chromosome in XX females and may stimulate H2A ubiquitination by recruiting the complex to target sites.
RYBP inhibits ubiquitination and degradation of TP53, regulating transcription of TP53 target genes, and may also influence proteasomal degradation of proteins such as FANK1 to regulate apoptosis.
It may act as a transcriptional repressor and play a role in tumor suppression by down-regulating SRRM3 in breast cancer.
