Product Specific Information

The M1/70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD11b, a 165–170 kDa integrin alphaM. CD11b associates with CD18 to form the alphaMbeta2 integrin (Mac-1), binding to CD54 (ICAM-1), C3bi, and fibrinogen.
Mac-1 is expressed by macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and mouse B-1 cells. M1/70 also cross-reacts with human CD11b and can detect this antigen on human peripheral blood monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cell subsets.
CD11b participates in adhesive cell interactions via its ligands.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and bone marrow cells, ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Careful titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule forming a heterodimer with CD18 (integrin beta-2). Known as Mac-1 or CR3, CD11b is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia.
It functions as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X.
Expression varies by tissue and differentiation stage, commonly used as a microglial marker.
Associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related susceptibility.
