Target Information
Rheb encodes a member of the small GTPase superfamily and produces a lipid-anchored cell membrane protein with five repeats of the RAS-related GTP-binding region. This protein plays a vital role in growth and cell cycle regulation through the insulin/TOR/S6K signaling pathway. It possesses GTPase activity, cycling between GDP- and GTP-bound forms, and requires farnesylation for its activity. Three pseudogenes are mapped on chromosomes 10 and 22.
