Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12. Type I and II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 8 typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form filaments in simple epithelial cells. It contributes to cellular structural integrity, signal transduction, and differentiation. Mutations in KRT8 are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
