Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- For staining of formalin-fixed tissues: heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12. Type I and type II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 8 typically pairs with keratin 18 to form filaments in simple epithelial cells. It contributes to cellular structural integrity and plays roles in signal transduction and differentiation. Mutations in this gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
