Target Information
This gene encodes a small, monomeric, predominantly unstructured protein that functions as a positive regulator of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. It interacts with a repressor of β-catenin mediated transcription at nuclear speckles, competitively blocking the repressor’s interactions with β-catenin and leading to up-regulation of β-catenin target genes.
The encoded protein may also play roles in NF-κB and ERK1/2 signaling pathways. Expression of this gene has been associated with proliferation in several cancers, including thyroid, breast, and hematological malignancies.
