Target Information

The SYTL4 gene encodes a member of the synaptotagmin-like protein family, characterized by an N-terminal Rab27 binding domain and C-terminal tandem C2 domains. The encoded protein interacts with Rab27 and plays a role in intracellular membrane trafficking, possibly inhibiting dense core vesicle exocytosis.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
