Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Alkaline phosphatase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Sheep Serum, as well as purified and partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase (Calf Intestine).
Cross-reactivity against Alkaline Phosphatase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a homodimeric enzyme (~86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms per monomer, essential for catalytic activity.
It is active in alkaline pH environments and found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
ALP plays roles in liver metabolism and skeletal development, and in bacteria, it serves as a source of inorganic phosphate.
In yeast, ALP is used as a model for studying membrane protein sorting.
