Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Alkaline Phosphatase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process including delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Sheep Serum as well as purified and partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase [Calf Intestine]. Cross-reactivity with Alkaline Phosphatase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

Alkaline phosphatase is a homodimeric enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms essential for its catalytic function per monomer and is optimally active at alkaline pH. The enzyme is found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, maintaining similar functions but differing structurally depending on the organism. ALP plays a role in liver metabolism and skeletal development. In bacteria, ALP acts as a source of inorganic phosphate, and in yeast, it is useful for studying membrane protein sorting.
