Beta-arrestin-2 (ARRB2)는 arrestin 계열의 어댑터 단백질로, N- 및 C-arrestin 도메인을 포함합니다.
이 단백질은 G 단백질 연결 수용체(GPCR)의 탈감작에 관여하며, β2-아드레날린 수용체(β2AR) 기능 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
ARRB2는 인산화된 β2AR에 결합하여 G(S) 단백질 활성화를 억제하고, AIP4와 함께 CXCR4의 엔도솜 경로 분해를 매개합니다.
또한 TSH 수용체의 호르몬 특이적 탈감작 및 망막 광수용체 세포의 시냅스 전달에도 관여하며, 신경 조직과 비장에서 특히 많이 발현됩니다.
