Target Information
Glucagon-like peptide-1(9-36)amide and GLP-1(9-37) are forms resulting from rapid degradation of active peptides GLP-1(7-36)amide and GLP-1(7-37) by dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV, CD26).
GLP-1 is a peptide hormone of the glucagon family, produced by intestinal L cells from the same prohormone as glucagon.
Active forms stimulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion and are conserved across mammalian species.
