This antibody is specific for human Cathelicidin (aa 115–121, NQARGSF).
The immunogen was prepared using partially purified human neutrophil membrane proteins (heparin Ultrogellectin affinity purification fractions in octyl glucoside).

Target Information
Cathelicidin is an epithelial-derived antimicrobial protein found in specific granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes of bone marrow, testis, and neutrophils.
Cathelicidins are antimicrobial peptides with conserved pro-peptide sequences identified in epithelial tissues and myeloid cells of humans and animals.
LL-37/hCAP-18 is the only Cathelicidin found in humans and is expressed in inflammatory and epithelial cells.
These molecules are essential for defense against bacterial infection in skin and also play roles in innate and adaptive immunity, including:
- Endotoxin neutralization
- Angiogenesis
- Wound healing
- Neutrophil chemotaxis
- Mast cell recruitment
Cathelicidin peptides are prototypes for innovative drugs that may treat infection or modulate immune response.
