Target Information
Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase (PNK) Monoclonal Antibody recognizes PNK, a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair processes during replication and recombination, or in response to DNA damage. PNK acts on DNA 5′-hydroxy and 3′-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation. During strand breakage, PNK associates with nuclear proteins to prepare DNA ends for DNA polymerase-β and DNA ligase III actions. It plays a key role in maintaining genomic stability in human cells.
