Target Information
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to specific cellular locations.
This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family, expressed at high levels during spermatogenesis and in mature sperm. It binds the RI and RII subunits of PKA in testis and may play a role in cell cycle control in both somatic and germ cells, as well as in spermatogenesis and sperm function.
