Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The tumor suppressor protein p53 is a sequence-specific transcription factor activated by cellular stress. It mediates cell cycle arrest or apoptosis in response to DNA damage or nucleotide starvation.
p53 upregulates stress-response genes such as p21waf1 and regulates G1 or G2/M arrest. Structurally, it contains an N-terminal transactivation domain, a central DNA-binding domain, an oligomerization domain, and a C-terminal regulatory domain.

Phosphorylation at Ser15 is critical for activation and stabilization, while phosphorylation at Ser392 is associated with tumor formation.
p53 plays key roles in preventing proliferation of damaged cells, acting as an anticancer factor, and is also linked to aging, oxidative stress, and cognitive function.
Mutations in the TP53 gene are common in many cancers, leading to loss of tumor suppressor activity. Germline mutations can cause inherited cancer syndromes such as Li-Fraumeni syndrome.
