Target Information
XRCC4 (X-ray repair cross-complementing protein 4) is an accessory factor of DNA ligase IV involved in DNA double-strand break repair and V(D)J recombination. It binds DNA ligase IV, enhancing its joining activity. Defects in XRCC4 or related proteins (Ku-70, Ku-80, DNA-PKCS, DNA ligase IV) can lead to failure of V(D)J rearrangement and impaired T and B cell maturation.
