CPA1 (Carboxypeptidase A1) is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue. It functions as a zinc-dependent pancreatic exopeptidase that catalyzes the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins, playing a key role in protein digestion and degradation. CPA1 may also regulate zymogen activation pathways, and abnormal levels are associated with pancreatic cancer, implicating it in tumor progression or suppression.
