CEACAM1 (Carcinoembryonic Antigen-Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) is a member of the CEA gene family within the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on leukocytes, epithelial, and endothelial cells, functioning as a cell adhesion molecule. CEACAM1 participates in homophilic and heterophilic interactions, influencing tissue organization, angiogenesis, apoptosis, tumor suppression, metastasis, and immune regulation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been reported.
