This antibody detects endogenous levels of total WDR4 protein.

Target Information

WDR4 is required for 7-methylguanosine modification of tRNA and belongs to the WD repeat protein family. WD repeats are conserved regions (~40 amino acids) typically bracketed by gly-his and trp-asp (GH-WD), facilitating formation of multiprotein complexes. Members of this family participate in cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation.
WDR4 has been excluded as a candidate for nonsyndromic deafness (DFNB10) but remains a candidate for other disorders mapped to 21q22.3 and for Down syndrome phenotypes. Alternative splicing generates at least three transcript variants, two diverging at the 3′ UTR encoding identical protein products.
