Target Information
VRK2 (Vaccinia Related Kinase 2) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the VRK family.
It is widely expressed in human tissues and highly expressed in actively dividing cells such as testis, leukocytes, fetal liver, and carcinomas.
VRK2 phosphorylates casein and undergoes autophosphorylation.
It interacts specifically with Epstein-Barr virus BHRF1 (a Bcl-2 homologue), contributing to cellular protection from apoptosis.
