Product Specific Information
PA1-4147 detects GABA Receptor Associated Protein in human, rat, mouse, bovine, and non-human primate samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting a ~116 kDa protein representing GABA Receptor Associated Protein in brain lysate.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues P(33)–Y(54) of the mouse and rat GABA R1 subunit.
Target Information
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, increasing Cl⁻ conductance to inhibit neuronal firing.
It activates ionotropic (GABAA) and metabotropic (GABAB) receptors, as well as GABAC receptors.
GABARAP (GABAA receptor-associated protein) links GABAA receptors to the cytoskeleton and may play a role in intracellular receptor transport.
GABARAP belongs to the MAP1 or ATG8-like family, and studies show that MAPK15/ERK8 interacts with ATG8 family proteins to regulate autophagy.
